About the Boston Wagner Society

The Boston Wagner Society, Inc., is a 501©(3) nonprofit organization that promotes the knowledge and enjoyment of the music and librettos of the nineteenth-century composer Richard Wagner.

The Boston Wagner Society is open to anyone who is interested in expanding their knowledge of Wagner’s enchanting and thought-provoking operas, his life, and his writings on music.

The Boston Wagner Society regularly invites scholars and authors to lecture and present audiovisual materials on various aspects of Wagner’s music, his librettos, and his life. Many events are free.

Members also receive a free subscription to the quarterly newsletter Wagneriana.

This publication contains articles on numerous aspects of Wagner’s music; reviews of current CDs, DVDs, videotapes, and live performances; a column on historical singers; and reports on various Wagner-related events.

In addition, the Society keeps its members up to date on classes, lectures, and various other Wagnerian events presented by other organizations.

Annual dues

    • $65 for two people living at the same address
    • $25 for students
